Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On the above noted date and time, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tricia Danielson and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Deborah Mullen conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for a decrease in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA and LPM met with Director Jean-Mari Dagarin. Licensee is requesting to be licensed for twenty (20) preschool children ages 2-5 years in room K1 only. Currently the facility is licensed for a capacity of forty (40) preschool children in rooms K1 and K2. Hours of operation will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM and Wednesday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Present during today\342\200\231s inspection were two (2) staff and eleven(11) children. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA and LPM informed Dagarin that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPA and LPM continued to tour the facility and measured new indoor activity space. Total indoor activity space in room K1 measured 901.97 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the requested decrease in capacity of twenty (20) children. LPA and LPM observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classroom via water fountain. There are two (2) toilets and two (2) sinks for the children's use. LPA and LPM observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. The existing approved fire clearance remains valid and in place. Director Dagarin was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. Based on the approved fire clearance, observations, and measurements taken during today's visit, classroom K1 is approved for the decrease in capacity. An exit interview was conducted with Director Dagarin and a copy of this report was provided on this date. A notice of site visit was provided on this date.
