What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Aman Lama arrived at the facility to conduct an annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA was met with licensee, Leticia Wyles who granted LPA access to the home. LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home. The following was observed and/or discussed: OFF-LIMIT AREAS INCLUDE: Bath 2, garage, laundry. As of this date, licensee has placed master bedroom, and bedrooms 2 & 3 off limits. Side yard to the right when stepping out to the backyard. ON LIMIT AREAS INCLUDE: Entry, great, and dining rooms, Bedroom4, kitchen, and powder room. DAYS AND HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday-Friday 5am-6pm. The inspection consisted of reviews of the CARE tool domains. The inspection found the facility to be in compliance except as noted on the LIC809D. Deficiencies were not cited this visit. · A working telephone and appropriate fire extinguisher were both present. · A dual carbon monoxide detector and smoke alarm were observed in working order. · All hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Storage of poisons/toxins are kept locked. · Licensee stated there are no guns/weapons currently kept in the home. Should licensee choose to keep any guns/weapons in the home, all guns, weapons & ammunition must be key locked separately, made inaccessible & must remain in compliance with Title 22 Regulations. · LPA observed appropriate postings in the home. · Licensee provided an updated Mandated Reporter Training Certificate, which expires: 07-2026. · Pediatric CPR and First Aid Card for licensee expires: 02-20-2027; assistant did not have an updated CPR/FA card, and cannot be left alone with children until updated. · There are no bodies of water during this visit. Licensee stated they used to have a spa in the backyard to the right side yard of the backyard when exiting, but had it removed. There is a water fountain at the front of the home, but that area is always supervised by a parent/authorized representative. Licensee understands all bodies of water must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 regulations. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. **Additionally, the following was reviewed with Licensee. · AB 1207 – Mandated Child Abuse Reporting: Child Day Care Personnel Training, beginning January 1, 2018 – Requires all licensed providers, applicants, directors and employees to complete training as specified on their mandated reporter duties and to renew their training every two years. Alternate training's are available, please visit our website at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/cdss-programs/community-care-licensing/child-care-licensing/resources-for-providers/training-and-educational-resources · -AB2960 – This bill requires the State Superintendent of Public Instruction (SSPI), within the California Department of Education (CDE), to develop and post on CDE's website a comprehensive childcare and development services online portal for families and providers by June 30, 2022. - Effective January 1, 2017 – Children under 2 years of age shall ride in a rear-facing car seat unless the child weighs 40 or more pounds OR is 40 or more inches tall. For additional information regarding car seat laws see www.chp.ca.gov · LPA observed Clean, safe and age appropriate toys available for children. · Documentation of last fire/disaster drill indicated as last conducted on: 04-07-2026 · The Licensee was informed of their reporting requirements and is provided with the Regional Office’s Unusual Incident Reporting email mailbox: UnusualIncidentReportsDO09@dss.ca.gov · LPA discussed Resident and/or staff records, and indicated that all adults who require caregiver background checks must receive all required clearances or exemptions. LPA provided the licensee with information on the livescan form as well as a list of documentation needed for an adult assistant. · The Licensee can submit transfer forms to associate new individuals or to disassociate someone from the facility at: Associations_Disassociations862@dss.ca.gov -Although no infants were present today, infants are enrolled. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage as an additional resource at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep -LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. -Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. -The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-care-centers/ . - Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. - To receive Provider Information Notices (PINs), go to: www.ccld.ca.gov , and click on the “Receive Important Updates” on the right side of page, above “Quick Links”. Add your email& and choose program. - The Duty Officer is available to answer questions Monday – Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm at: 951-782-4200. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the facility representative confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given, must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with licensee, Leticia Wyles.
