Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 01/21/2026 at 11:35 am , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gabriela Hernandez arrived at the Family Child Care Home for a case management - plan of correction inspection. LPA met with the Licensee Jasmin Ceja and explained the reason for today\342\200\231s visit. During todays visit, LPA observed the following: There is an in-ground pool and spa in the off-limit area of the backyard. There is a 5ft mesh fence that is in good repair, with a self-closing gate that is self-latching. LPA verified the gate opens away from the pool. The pool is in the back right corner of the home, the back side of the pool has a wall consisting of concrete blocks. The rest of the pool is surrounded by the 5ft mesh fencing. LPA confirmed Licensee installed pool alarm (Pool Patrol) that is in compliance with ASTM International Standard F2208. The pool alarm was tested while LPA was present, and LPA verified the pool alarm is in working order during todays visit. LPA verified there is a life ring with exterior diameter of 20 inches approved by the U.S. Coast Guard, a rescue pole with a life hook attached that meets the minimum requirement of 12 feet. LPA verified all items are easily accessible and mounted on the concrete block wall by the pool. Licensee provided documentation confirming they are completing daily inspection logs to ensure all safety measures are in place and in working order. LPA verified there are no windows with direct access into the pool. LPA did not observe items or objects near fencing that would reduce the fence\342\200\231s height to less than 5 feet or make fence climbable by a child under six years old. Pool and Safety requirements meet Title 22 regulations at this time. LPA advised licensee to be vigilant of any wear and tear on the fencing, gate, spring and latch and ensure it continues to meet requirements. All deficiencies issued on 01/08/2026 were cleared during this visit and a "Letter of Deficiency Citation Cleared" was provided. An exit interview was conducted. A copy of this report along with appeal rights were provided. A notice of site was provided and shall remain posted for 30 days.
