What the inspector wrote

Interviews revealed that there have been times one teacher or aid is supervising 22-26 children during nap time. It was revealed that it is a common occurrence in some classrooms to have two to three and sometimes more children not napping, out of their cots and running around during nap time, with still only the one staff supervising. Based on confidential interviews conducted during the investigation, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met and the allegation that facility is out of ratio is substantiated. The facility is being cited for Title 22 Regulations Section 101230. See LIC 9099-D for cited deficiencies. An exit interview was conducted, appeal rights discussed and given to the licensee along with a copy of this report was provided to Director Julia Fletes. A notice of site visit was also provided and must remain posted for 30 days.

This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Interviews revealed at times during nap time, not all children remain napping or in cots, with only one staff providing supervision for up to 24 children.
