Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samuel Lopez arrived at the facility to conduct a Case Management inspection due to the request submitted for an increase in capacity. The facility is requesting to increase the Preschool Program capacity from 24 to 48. A Fire Clearance was granted on 8/11/2022. The days and hours of operation will be Monday through Friday; 8:00 am to 3:00pm. Program will operate in rooms 26, 27, & 28. Please note that the inspection needed to be scheduled/announced due to the program not being in session. LPA Lopez toured the facility and measured the rooms that are assigned to the Preschool Program. Based on the measurements taken, the following was determined: Preschool Indoor Activity Areas LPA has determined that there is sufficient space to accommodate 58 children. Preschool Bathroom Fixtures 4 toilets x 15 = 60 children 5 sinks x 15 = 75 children Preschool Outdoor Activity Area: LPA has determined that there is sufficient space to accommodate 196 children. *Waiver to share playground with Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten is pending approval Limiting factor for preschool capacity is the Fire Clearance granted. Preschool capacity is limited to 48 children. LPA discussed AB 2370 and provided a copy of PIN 21-21-CCP which explains the requirement for lead testing of water. All licensed Child Care Centers operating in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, shall test their water for lead. Also, for a license issued on or after July 1, 2022, initial testing results shall be received and posted by January 1, 2023. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Prior to submitting the Request for capacity increase from 24 to 48, the following needs to be submitted and/or approved: 1. Waiver for sharing of playground with Kindergarten is pending approval Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Coordinator Katrina Brooks.
