What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kay Turner and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Aaron Ross conducted a relocation visit with the applicant, Tanaye Ward. The applicant was licensed and has relocated to a new facility address. Applicant guided LPA on a tour of the facility, inside and out, and LPA discussed the following with Applicant: Normal days and hours of operation: Monday thru Friday, 6am to 6pm. OFF LIMIT AREAS INCLUDE: master bedroom/bathroom, bedrooms 2-5, and garage Entrance Checklist was provided to the applicant. \302\267 Appropriate fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are present and were tested by the Applicant during this inspection. \302\267 All hazardous items were made inaccessible. \302\267 Poison and toxins are locked. \302\267 No guns or weapons present as of this date. APPLICANT UNDERSTANDS ALL GUNS, WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION MUST BE KEY-LOCKED SEPARATELY AND MADE INACCESSIBLE PER TITLE 22 REGULATIONS. \302\267 There is no fireplace \302\267 Verification of control of property on file \302\267 Clean, safe and age appropriate toys \302\267 There are no toxic plants observed at this time. \302\267 Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan & Notification of Parent\342\200\231s Rights forms are not posted \302\267 Pediatric CPR and First Aid Card expires on 08/2024 \302\267 Health & Safety, plus one hour of Lead Exposure Component completed on 05/19/2022 - Current roster on file There are no bodies of water as of this date. APPLICANT UNDERSTANDS ALL BODIES OF WATER INCLUDING PONDS, ABOVE GROUND POOLS & SPAS, IN-GROUND POOLS & SPAS, AND SOME FOUNTAINS MUST BE PROPERLY COVERED OR FENCED PER TITLE 22 REGULATIONS. PG 3 Applicant/Licensee Responsibility: - Meet posting requirements. Failure to meet posting requirements shall result in an immediate $100 civil penalty. - Conduct and document fire & earthquake drills every six months. Last conducted 08/18/2022 - Responsible for being a mandated reporter. - Access to forms & Regulations for Family Child Care online at www.cdss.ca.gov - Responsibility to know the regulations for anyone providing care. - Inaccessibility of hazards must be constantly reassessed. - Maintain a current facility phone number on file with the licensing office. \302\267 Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform. To receive important licensed-related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. \302\267 Duty Officer is available to answer questions Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm at (951)782-4200. \302\267 Applicant was informed of their reporting requirements and provided with the Regional Office\342\200\231s Unusual Incident Reporting email mailbox: UnusualIncidentReportsDO09@dss.ca.gov \302\267 Applicant can submit transfer forms to associate new individuals or to disassociate someone from your facility at: Associations_Disassociations862@dss.ca.gov Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Tanaye Ward. Corrections needed prior to the release of license: 1) thermometer on site (First Aid Kit) 2) Parent Board Licensee was informed that until relocation is approved, there are to be no children in this facility. PG 2 -The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position when not in use. \302\267 Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. \302\267 Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information , see PIN 22-02-CCP . When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm \302\267 LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Baby walkers, bouncy seats, exer-saucers and other similar items are prohibited. \302\267 SB792 \342\200\223 Immunization requirements for staff, volunteers, effective September 1, 2016 \342\200\223 In accordance with California Health and Safety Code Section 1597.622 (a)(1)- a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a family day care home if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Each employee and volunteer shall receive an influenza vaccination or they may provide a statement declining the vaccination. If employees/volunteers are receiving the influenza vaccination, they must do so between August 1 and December 1 of each year.
