What the inspector wrote

On 12/02/25, at time listed above, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kelli Waters arrived unannounced for physical inspection for the facility and conduct a Proof of Corrections visit. LPA Waters met with the Licensee, Angela Diaz, explained the purpose of today's visit, completed a visual inspection of the facility, and took census. During a previous visit conducted by LPA Waters on 10/24/25, the facility was issued a citation for Title 22 Child Care Regulation Health & Safety Code 1596.814(a)(1)(B). Present during the inspection were the Licensee, an assistant, one adult resident and 6 children in care (5 preschool age, 1 infant). The plan of correction was for the Licensee to meet AB2866 Pool Safety requirements by adding a water alarm meeting ASTM F2208 or pool cover, a fixed length 12 foot rescue pole with body hook, a minimum 17-inch US Coast Guard approved life ring, and maintain a daily safety inspection log. During the visit, LPA inspected the in-ground pool area, and the following was observed and or discussed: \342\200\242 Mesh fencing 5 feet tall surrounding the pool, including in areas with a raised retaining wall \342\200\242 Gate is self-latching with a key-lockable device no lower than 60 inches above the ground \342\200\242 20-inch Life saving ring approved by U.S. Coast Guard with documentation \342\200\242 Water pool alarm that meets ATSM F2208 with documentation, tested by the licensee \342\200\242 Rescue body hook with a 12-foot fixed length pole In addition, LPA observed a daily safety log being maintained Today's visit confirmed that the Licensee is in full compliance with AB2866 regulations. An exit interview was conducted with Licensee, Angela Diaz, and a copy of this report and appeal rights were provided to the Licensee on this date.
