What the inspector wrote

On October 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Chancellor arrived unannounced to Diaz Family Chid Care (FCC) to conduct a case management-licensee initiated inspection to increase the FCC capacity. LPA was greeted by assistant Marissa Santillan, that granted entry and a tour of the FCC. Licensee, Kailie Diaz arrived shortly after. On October 17, 2025, a fire clearance was granted by the Temecula Fire Prevention Bureau, approving an increase in capacity from (8) to (14). During visit, a census of six daycare children was taken. Where three children were observed to be napping and two others were engaged with age appropriate activities. Carbon monoxide and smoke detector were tested and are in working order. Licensee stated she understands when a capacity of eight (8) is exceeded or when four (4) infants and additional children are present, an assistant is required. In the event that an assistant is absent, licensee was reminded that ratios must return to a small family child care capacity of eight (8) children. Licensee Kailie Diaz stated weapons are not present in the home at this time. LPA there are not any pools, spas, or other bodies of water present at the FCCH property at this time. Licensee stated they understand that fingerprints need to be cleared prior to employment or presence in the childcare for any adult, eighteen years or older, who assists, lives or volunteers in the home. Licensee stated they understand that licensee needs to be present in the day-care, when children are present for 80% per day. Diaz FCC has been officially approved as a Large family childcare. License will be approved for a maximum capacity of 14 children, along with parent notification. No immediate concerns were present or deficiencies cited on today's date. An exit interview was provided, along with a copy of this report and appeal rights to licensee, Kailie Diaz. Notice of Site visit, which must remain posted in a prominent space for 30 consecutive days.
