What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Naomi Hurtado conducted an unannounced case management visit for a small family childcare at the above home on 9/3/2025 at 12:30 PM. On 8/26/25, LPA Hurtado conducted an unannounced annual inspection/case management visit as the applicant applied for a capacity increase; during this visit, LPA documented deficiencies on pool safety and safe sleep. Today, LPA met with Licensee, Mayra Jaime Infante, and reviewed the deficiency corrections made by the Licensee. There was 2 children present with Licensee and Assistant when LPA arrived. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day. Certain areas are off-limits, including the bedrooms, kitchen, parts of the backyard such as the pool, and garage. The facility is currently licensed as a small Family Child Care Home (FCCH) with a maximum capacity of eight children and is operating within the licensed capacity of the license. The fire clearance for the application of a large family child care was approved on 8/6/2025 by the RV County Fire Department. There are is a pool at the facility. During today's inspection, the following was observed: The pool is surrounded by a 5 foot wrought iron fence with a maximum vertical clearance of 2 inches from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure. LPA observed that there are no gap or void spaces that would allow the passage of a sphere with a diameter of 4 inches wide. There are not outside surface protrusions, cavities or other physical characteristics that would serve as a handhold or foothold enabling a child to climb over. LPA observed that the fence has an access gate that is self-latching and self-closing, it swings away from the pool, and the key lockable device is placed no lower than 60 inches above the ground. LPA observed that there was a fixed 12 foot pole with an attached body hook. The life ring has a minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches and is labeled as approved by the United States Coast Guard. Both the pole and the life ring are visible from the swimming pool and readily available for use. LPA observed that the pool alarm was functional and in compliance with ASTM International Standard F2208. Licensee provided documentation confirming that it is in compliance with ASTM International Standard F2208. Licensee provided a daily pool inspection log to ensure all safety measures are in place before the facility open. As of this date, the fencing meets Title 22 Regulations, and the pool is inaccessible. During record review, LPA also observed 15 minute sleep log for infant is maintained daily. There are no deficiencies being cited at this time.\302\240Plan of Correction letters were provided to the Licensee; Licensee corrected deficiencies that were cited during the annual inspection on 8/26/25. A notice of site visit was given to licensee, Mayra Jaime Infante, and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Mayra Jaime Infante. Appeal rights were discussed and provided during the exit interview.
