On 02/06/25, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Kelli Waters and Kelly Gerth arrived unannounced at the facility to conduct an annual inspection as part of a compliance review. Present during the inspection were Licensee, 2 assistants and one adult resident. LPA met with Jeannette Leon and toured the facility, inside and out, records were reviewed, and the following was observed and/or discussed: Facility Review: \342\200\242 Normal days and hours of operation are: Monday-Saturday 7:30am-6pm \342\200\242 Off-limit areas include: Kitchen, family room, nook, garage and entire second floor \342\200\242 The facility is licensed to have no more than 14 children as a large FCCH and is operating within the licensed capacity and appropriate ratios. 3 staff were present with 11 children (3 infants) \342\200\242 Appropriate supervision was being provided during this inspection \342\200\242 A working telephone is present, and the current phone number is on file \342\200\242 A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed. A smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were present and tested by the Licensee during this inspection. \342\200\242 Not all hazardous items were stored inaccessible to children; LPA advised licensee to move sharp kitchen items to a higher location assessed by the children in care. In backyard area, LPA observed a pile of possibly hazardous items behind the shed and to the right of the patio area along the side of the house. A citation was issued. \342\200\242 Toxins are locked and inaccessible to children in care. \342\200\242 Weapons are not present. Licensee understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 Regulations \342\200\242 Stairs are barricaded \342\200\242Clean, safe, and age-appropriate toys are provided \342\200\242 Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan and Notification of Parent\342\200\231s Rights poster are posted \342\200\242 Documentation of fire and disaster drills are on file \342\200\223 Last drill was conducted on 08/16/24 \342\200\242 No bodies of water are present at this time. Licensee understands all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools & spas, in-ground pools & spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 Regulations. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position. Record Review: \342\200\242 Verification of control of property is on file \342\200\242 Current roster on file \342\200\242 Children\342\200\231s records are complete \342\200\242 Employee\342\200\231s records are complete \342\200\242 Mandated Reporter Training expires on 01/07/27 \342\200\242 Pediatric CPR and First Aid Card expires on 08/26 \342\200\242 Health & Safety Certificate - completed on 06/29/21 \342\200\242 Resident and/or staff records were reviewed and all adults who require caregiver background checks have received all required clearances and/or exemptions; S2 had a background clearance but was not associated to facility. A citation was issued. ***Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.*** Topics Discussed: \342\200\242 Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. An exit interview was conducted, and this report was reviewed with the Licensee. Appeal rights were discussed and provided during the exit interview.
