Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 7/16/25 at 10:50 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Naomi Hurtado arrived at the facility to conduct a case management visit. The Licensee Maribel Mendoza has applied to increase capacity to a large family childcare home.\302\240Fire Clearance was approved by RV County Department on 7/2/25. During the case management visit, LPA observed a working cell phone is available, and the current phone number on file is correct. A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, both of which were tested with the fire department on 7/2/25. The fireplace is properly screened to prevent access by children, there are no stairs, and all hazardous items, including toxins, are stored securely and are inaccessible to children. There are no weapons are present, and the Licensee, Maribel Mendoza, understands that all firearms, weapons, and ammunition must be locked separately and made inaccessible as per Title 22 Regulations. There are not any pools, spas, or other bodies of water. LPA Hurtado went over the capacity and ratio regulations for a large license and reviewed the LIC 9150 that will need to be updated once the large license is approved. The application for a Large Family Child Care Home will be submitted for approval with a maximum capacity of 12, or 14 with parent notification. A notice of site visit was given to licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Maribel Mendoza. Appeal rights were discussed and provided during the exit interview.
