What the inspector wrote

On the above noted date and time , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Diana Brasel conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for a increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Facility Representative Misty Kelley . Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 195 preschool children ages 3-5 in rooms B101, B102, C103, D102, D103, D104, D105, and D106. Currently licensed is B101 and B102 for the capacity of 48 preschool children. Hours of operation will be Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Present during today’s inspection were 39 children with 10 staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Misty Kelley that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPA continued to tour the facility and measured new additional indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured 6857.16 , which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 195 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via drinking fountains. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 8/09/2024 for 200 children, LPA will request an updated fire clearance for 195 children total . LPA observed a total of 16 sinks and 16 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 195 children. The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing chain link is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 27596.09 , which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. Currently there are no climbing structures on playground 1 or playground 2. The facility representative will advise the case carrying LPA when the climbing structures have been installed, they both will be for ages 2-5. The facility will have rubber padding for cushioning material under the climbing structures. Shade is provided via trees and permanent patio cover that extends off the classroom building. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. Drinking water is available via igloos and disposable cups as well drinking fountains. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Facility representative Misty Kelley was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). No corrections needed. LPA will obtain the needed updated Fire Clearance to show 195 children. LPA will process the request to increase from current license of 48 to 195 children.
