Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Natalie Dunaway and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erwina Pascual-Golamco met with Licensee Representatives Regional Leader, Melanie Koontz-DeMarchi and Center Director, Carrie Robinson , for the purpose of an informal office visit. LPM defined the difference between non-compliance and an informal meeting. LPM advised that the purpose of today's meeting is to help the facility maintain compliance. Today's informal meeting was to discuss the type A citation issued on 10/8/24 (case management) regarding supervision. The Licensee Representatives and Director stated that they have taken the following steps to maintain compliance: 1. One foot in, one foot out for teachers in transition - door is open only enough for children to pass through as they call children's names. 2. Center Director observe transitions in classrooms, and let staff know to call if they need help. Staff pay more attention to transitions. 3. Utilize Child Supervision Records (CSRs) - name to face sheets 4. Staff will conduct a secondary head count. LPA discussed follow up documentation for file. LPA and LPM reviewed ratio, physical plant, and supervision requirements. LPM discussed using the Department website (ccld.ca.gov) for child care updates, current forms, legislation and regulation information. LPM suggested that Licensee can view information videos at www.ccld.childcarevideos.org . This report was reviewed with the Licensee Representatives and Director.
