Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christopher Bello met with Acting Director to continue and close a complaint investigation, regarding the above allegation. Upon arrival LPA observed twenty children. LPA made observations, gathered documents pertaining to the investigation and conducted interviews. It was alleged that “Staff told child to push another day care child”. Children interviews corroborated the allegation. Staff told daycare child to push another child down the slide because they were holding up the slide line. This is considered as an immediate risk to the children in care. Based on LPA’s investigation, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore, the above allegation is found to be substantiated. Director stated that she does not believe that their staff would say that. If it did happen it was not malicious and was most likely to get that child down of the slide to not get him hurt. Director stated that there could have been other options to get the child off of the slide. Title 22 Deficiencies have been cited on the attached LIC 809D. Upon receipt of Type A citations, facility shall post and provide copies of the LIC 809D for parents/guardians of children currently in care and for parents/guardians of newly enrolled children for the next 12 months. Facility must also keep the signed LIC 9224, Acknowledging Receipt of Licensing Reports LIC 809D in each child's files. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Acting Director Lucia Vargas
