Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Arianna Manabat and LPA Soleil Marx met with Director Sandra Haines for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee is requesting 12 toddlers ages 18-36 months under the Preschool Program. The previous capacity for the Preschool License was 180 and will remain 180 with capacity separated as 12 toddlers and 168 preschoolers. The fire clearance was received and granted on 9/26/2023. The program operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There are preschool classroom located in Rooms #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. The Toddler option is located in room #7. CAB LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, nap mats, and cubbies. CAB LPA measured the total indoor space contained a total of 498.74 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee\342\200\231s request for 12 toddler children. There are no toilets and one sink located in Room #7. The Director stated that the toddler room, room #7, will not utilize any bathrooms within the facility for their Toddler Option as the Toddler Option will only enroll children who are not showing interest in potty training/are not potty trained. The Director stated that, once the children show interest in potty training, the children will move to the preschool program. OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: The outdoor area on the property is going to be utilized for the Toddler Option and the Infant component. The outdoor play area is fenced within a larger outdoor space that is lined with a wooden fence that is at least four feet tall and separates the preschool yard from the Toddler yard. CAB LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment and toys. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There are shaded areas supplied by a canopy located towards the left of the play structure. Report continues on LIC809-C. CAB LPA measured that the outdoor play area contains a total of 1,984.86 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee\342\200\231s request for 12 toddler children. The Licensee has requested a Shared Outdoor Space Waiver and has provided an outdoor schedule indicating when the toddlers and infants children will go outside showing no commingling between the groups. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director. Effective today, 10/12/2023, CAB LPA will approve the change of capacity to serve 12 Toddler Children ages 18 - 36 months, 168 preschool children from ages 2 to entry into first grade; with 12 school age first grade and above under the school age option.
