Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jennifer Velasco met with Facility Representative, Director Nymia Amey (Director), to conduct an unannounced subsequent complaint investigation inspection pertaining to the above allegations. The purpose of today's inspection was explained. During the investigation, LPA conducted interviews, observed care, and obtained relevant documentation. LPA observed all staff engage with children respectfully, safely, and appropriately. LPA observed children approach staff confidently. LPA reviewed facility guidance provided to staff regarding behavior management and personal rights. Staff were guided to provide positive reinforcement, redirect children who were having trouble listening to friends or sharing with friends, and provide positive discipline principles to guide behavior management while safeguarding the personal rights of children in care. LPA interviewed children, staff, and parents. Witness statements were consistent in failing to corroborate the allegations. Witness stated the staff are loving, respectful, and safe care providers to children. Witness stated they did not believe a staff yelled at or hit a child. The preponderance of evidence standard has not been met; therefore, the allegations are unsubstantiated. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Director, who was provided with appeal rights. Notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for parental review for 30 days.
