Application Specialist (AS) Alecia Sifuentes and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tanya Washington met with Site Supervisor, Leslie Mitchem for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee requests a change of capacity to serve 24 children from age 2 years to entry into kindergarten and 8 toddlers age 18-36 months under the Toddler Option Program. The program operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The fire clearance was received and granted on 7/27/2023. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one preschool classroom in room #31 and one toddler classroom in room #32. AS observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and napping cots. AS used current measurements from reports dated 7/16/2020 and 9/17/2021, therefore AS did not take measurements. The total classroom space contains a total of 1,446 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee's request for 24 preschool children and 8 toddlers. There are two toilets and three sinks in the preschool classroom and two toilets and three sinks in the toddler classroom. There is a separate private restroom for the staff located at the elementary school. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There is one outdoor area on the property. AS observed a Shared Outdoor Space Waiver on file and separate outdoor schedules posted. AS used current measurements from report dated 9/17/2021, therefore AS did not take measurements. The outdoor play area contains a total of 2,836 square feet, which will accommodate Licensee's request for 24 preschool children and 8 toddlers. Report continues on LIC809-C. Site Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Site Supervisor was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Site Supervisor, Leslie Mitchem.
