Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Loraine Perez and Matthew Gallo met with, Director Mary Patten, for the purpose of conducting an unannounced complaint investigation inspection pertaining to the above allegation. The purpose of today's inspection was explained to the Director. During the inspection process, LPA conducted interviews, observed care, and obtained relevant documentation. It was alleged that the facility staff inappropriately communicate in front of children in care. Interviews, and LPA observations, failed to corroborate the allegation. Communication between staff while in the presence of children is conducted either in person, over two way radios or by phone with in the center. From interviews with those pertinent to the investigation, staff use two way radios when immediate assistants is needed in the classroom. From interviews, management reviews communication protocols with staff. Although the allegation may have happened, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the allegation; therefore, the allegation is unsubstantiated. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Marry Patten. Appeal rights were provided. Notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
