What the inspector wrote

At 10:40 a.m. on Friday, August 20th. 2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karyn Guerra met with Director, Cindy Jones, for the purpose of an unannounced case management inspection. A risk assessment for COVID-19 was conducted via telephone prior to entering the facility. Licensee is requesting to add a toddler component to the preschool license. The toddler component will consist of 12 children ages 18 to 36 months. No measurements were taken today. The total capacity of the facility will not change. The toddler component will be in the former Geckos classroom that previously served 2 year old children and has not been in use. Measurements were taken during previous licensing inspections on 12/11/2012 and 8/03/2018. There is a total of 3567.078 square feet, which will accommodate the requested capacity of 84 children. LPA inspected the toddler option classroom. Name of the classroom will remain Geckos. LPA observed a changing table within arms reach of a sink, cubbies, napping mats, and age appropriate materials and equipment for children. There is a total of 8 toilets and 9 sinks for the facility. There is a total of 7068.77 square feet outdoors, previously measured on 12/11/2012. The facility has requested a waiver to share the outdoor play space. Director acknowledges that preschool children, infants, and toddlers may not use the play space at the same time. Director will submit a play schedule to LPA. Fire clearance is on file with the department and was received on 8/20/2021. As of today, August 20th, 2021, the addition of the toddler component is approved. No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection. This report was reviewed with the Director and an exit interview was conducted. A notice of site visit was provided and shall remain posted for a period of 30 days for parental review.
