What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Corina Beckby met with Facility Representative, Antjuanette Carter for an unannounced annual inspection. Today’s census included 8 children being supervised by 3 staff. The Facility Representative was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. The Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA inspected all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service, and outdoor play areas. Hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in operable and safe condition. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. Storage containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers in each classroom. LPA observed a functioning Carbon Monoxide detector. The Facility Representative stated there are no poisons, bodies of water, or weapons on the premises. Playground equipment and surfaces were inspected and are in good condition with enough resilient material under climbing structures to absorb a fall. Shade was provided to children via canopies. Drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors by way of bottled water and sippy cups. Morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack are provided by the facility. LPA observed posted menus showing planned meals at least one week in advance. LPA observed the appropriate postings were visible to parents. LPA observed a current children's roster and fire drill; the last drill was conducted on 10/23/2025. During this inspection, LPA observed that the facility is equipped with First Aid equipment. LPA observed sign in sheets are done electronically. Continued on LIC 809-C... page 2... During today’s visit, staff and children’s files were reviewed. LPA observed current immunization records, documentation of the educational background, training, and/or experience and Mandated Reporter training certificates. It was observed that at least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (expires: 03/08/2026). Each child's file contained appropriate documentation: emergency card, consent for emergency medical treatment and notifications of children’s and parent’s rights, health history, physician's report and immunization records. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed on 04/25/22 in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS.
