Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst Jennifer Velasco (LPA) met with Facility Representative, Licensee Kelli Vaccaro (D1), to conduct a case management inspection regarding a request to increase capacity. D1 has requested to increase the total capacity for infants from 20 to 35. D1 has requested to remove one classroom in Suite 1301 from the infant license and add it to the preschool license. D1 has also requested to add Suite 1311 to Suite 1309 such that the infant program will operate in suites 1309 and 1311. LPA observed care and supervision of 15 infants by six classroom staff. During today's inspection, LPA measured two rooms (Suites 1309 and 1311) that will be utilized for the infant license. Note: the "toddler" room in Suite 1301 is subtracted from the infant license total capacity. A capacity change was approved by the Folsom Fire Marshal on 01.20.23; the capacity increase approved is for a total of 33 infant children. LPA observed age appropriate furnishings and equipment. LPA observed a changing table with padding that is at least one inch thick. LPA observed the changing table to be within arm\342\200\231s reach of a sink. LPA observed additional sleep equipment, and storage cubbies for children. Based on the measurements, the indoor activity area of the two suites will accommodate a total 33 infants. There is no change in the outdoor space. A shaded area is available, and age appropriate equipment was observed. D1 stated that water will available to children outside through individual bottles and cups. LPA discussed infant sleep regulations found in CCR 101429, 101419.2, 101430, and 101439.1. A capacity increase to 33 infants is approved. Due to the availability of cribs, the facility's current capacity of infants up to 12 months of age is limited to ten. There were no deficiencies cited during today's visit. This report was reviewed with the director and an exit interview was conducted. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and shall remain posted for 30 days.
