What the inspector wrote

On 01/27/2023 at 10:00 AM., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Arianna Manabat and Erwina Pascual-Golamco met with Licensees for an unannounced annual / one year inspection. During the time of arrival there were eight care children were present. Present today was the Licensee. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Hours are 6:30am to 6:00pm. The home is a two-story home off-limit areas are the entire second floor, garage, and backyard. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA Manabat inspected the firearm at the facility that meets all regulations. A health and safety inspection was conducted in the areas accessible to children. The house has a working telephone, fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector that meet regulations. LPAs observed all the required postings. LPAs advised the licensee that if there are any poisons at the home, all poisons must be locked with a key lock or combination lock. LPAs observed a barricaded fireplace. Licensees have all of their immunization records current and was reminded to keep a file present within the facility. Children's roster was observed. Licensee\342\200\231s CPR/First aid card had an expiration date of 12/2024 The licensee has been informed of the two year requirement for the Mandated reporter training. During today\342\200\231s inspection, LPAs observed a fire drill log in the facility records. The last date was January 2023. Licensee is aware that they need to complete a drill at least every six months. Report continues on 809C................ \342\200\246\342\200\246 Continued from previous 809 page Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey will be sent to the email address provided. Please complete the survey and share your inspection experience.
