Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Ferrara met with Facility Representative Alex Gray to conduct a Case Management inspection. Licensee has requested an increase in capacity from 72 to 82 preschool children using classrooms that were originally used for school age children. LPA observed there were currently 62 children in care with ten staff. The facility's current hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6 PM. A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. LPA observed the facility had a sufficient amount of furniture, toys, and cubbies in the classrooms. LPA advised that the tables and chairs should be suitable for preschool sized children and the toilets may need a step stool and seat adapter. LPA observed disinfectants and medications are inaccessible and appropriately stored. The total square footage for the classrooms is 4,334.93 square feet , which will accommodate the request for 82 preschool children. (Measurements were used from the original pre-licensing inspection.) LPA received an approved fire clearance from the Folsom Fire Department. LPA observed the outdoor play area is fenced and equipped with a sufficient amount of play equipment and toys. The outdoor space was previously measured on March 23rd, 2017 and includes 12,861 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity. There is sufficient resilient material underneath climbing structures to absorb a fall. An exit interview was conducted and in the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed at the time of the inspection. Notice of Site was provided and must remain posted for 30 days.
