Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Ferrara met with Facility Representative Alex Gray to conduct a Case Management inspection. Licensee has requested an increase in capacity from 82 to 100 preschool children using classrooms that were originally used for school age children. LPA observed there were currently 42 children in care with eight staff. A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. LPA observed the facility had a sufficient amount of furniture, toys, and cubbies for each classroom. LPA observed tables and chairs had been purchased for preschool size children. LPA observed disinfectants and medications are inaccessible and appropriately stored. The total square footage for the classrooms is 4,334.93 square feet , which will accommodate the request for 100 preschool children. (Measurements were used from the original pre-licensing inspection.) LPA received an approved fire clearance from the Folsom Fire Department. LPA observed the outdoor play area is fenced and equipped with a sufficient amount of play equipment and toys. The outdoor space was previously measured on March 23rd, 2017 and includes 12,861 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity. There is sufficient resilient material underneath climbing structures to absorb a fall. Children were drinking out of individual water bottles. An exit interview was conducted and in the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed at the time of the inspection. Notice of Site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days.
