What the inspector wrote

On May 20th, 2026, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Soleil Marx and Joshua Hatch met with Director, Cathlean Ripley, for the purpose of conducting an unannounced licensee initiated capacity change/room change case management inspection. The facility submitted an application requesting a capacity change to decrease the infant capacity from 12 to 8 infants and increase the toddler capacity from 18 to 24 toddlers. The fire clearance was granted on 03/04/2026 from Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. The facility is requesting to utilize the same previously licensed infant activity spaces and is requesting a room change to utilize two of the three previously licensed toddler classrooms. LPAs measured the infant indoor activity spaces which measured as 453.75 square feet total, which will accommodate the requested capacity of 8 infants. LPA observed 1 sink within the infant activity diaper changing areas. LPAs measured the two toddler classrooms, caterpillars and Lady bug, which measured a total of 656.75 square feet which not accommodate the requested capacity of 24 toddlers; Indoor activity space measurements for toddler option allows for a maximum of 18 toddlers. LPAs observed 2 toilets and 3 sink available to toddlers within the two toddler classrooms. LPAs measured the lower yard for outdoor activity space for infants/toddler which measures 1389.05 square feet and accommodates 18 infants/toddlers. Shared space waiver on file. Director provided LPA with a revised application requesting a capacity of 18 toddlers instead of 24 toddlers -A new fire clearance for total capacity of 26 which includes 8 infants and 18 toddlers must be granted by the fire department prior to capacity change approval. Exit interview conducted and report reviewed with Director. A Notice of Site Visit provided and must remain posted for 30 days.
