What the inspector wrote

On 10/17/24 at approximately 1PM , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michelle Perez met with Licensee , Nicole Glazar, for an unannounced inspection. During the inspection there was a census of 9 CHILDREN being supervised by the licensee and assistant . All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Facilities hours of operation are M-F 6am to 11p. A health and safety inspection was conducted in the areas accessible to children. The off-limit areas are include: Kitchen, upstairs, and garage. Licensee understands that children may never enter these off-limits areas. The house has a working telephone, fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector that meet regulations. LPA observed all required postings. LPA observed home was safe, orderly, and free of hazards. LPA advised the licensee that if there are any poisons at the home, all poisons must be locked with a key lock or combination lock. LPA observed a fireplace covered. The licensee stated that there are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s files. A current roster is being maintained and fire and disaster drills are documented. The licensee's immunization records for measles (MMR), pertussis (Tdap), and the flu are available in the facility file. Current CPR and First Aid certification was verified and expires 11/2025 and AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training is current for all staff. Fire drill documented. Licensee states no infants are enrolled at this time. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment (FDCH is providing) This facility is not providing Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s personnel, and administrative records.
