What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts Erwina Pascual-Golamco and Jennifer Velasco (LPA) met with Director Kathleen Breeding to conduct a case management inspection, regarding a request to increase capacity. LPA observed care and supervision of 6 infants by 2 staff in one room. Licensee has requested to increase the total capacity for infants from 12 to 32. During today's inspection, LPA measured two rooms Room 2 and adding Room 1 that will be utilized for infant care, and is now removed from the preschool square footage. Fire clearance was granted on 3/29/23 for 32 infant children ages 12 - 24 months. Indoor Activity Area LPA measured Rooms 1 and 2 for a total of 1127.33 square feet . LPA observed age appropriate furnishings and equipment. LPA observed a changing table with padding that is at least one inch thick. LPA observed the changing table to be within arm\342\200\231s reach of a sink. LPA observed additional sleep equipment, and 32 storage cubbies for children. Based on the measurements, the indoor activity area of the two rooms will accommodate a total 32 infants. OUTDOOR SPACE The total capacity of outdoor infant area is 1336.79 square feet , which will accommodate no more than 17 infants at any one time. A shaded area is available, and age appropriate equipment was observed. Director stated that water will available to children outside through a water cooler and cups. LPA discussed infant sleep regulations found in CCR 101429, 101419.2, 101430, and 101439.1. A capacity increase to 32 infants is approved. Applicant acknowledges there will be no infants under 12 months old. Applicant stated they will only provide services to infants 12 months to 24 months. The following items are required before an updated license will be issued: 1. Licensing Program Manager\342\200\231s final review 2. LIC200A with wet signature 3. Designated Assistant Infant Care Center Director documents 4. Waiver request for staggerred use of the infant outdoor activity area not to exceed 17 infants at any one time. There were no deficiencies cited during today's visit. This report was reviewed with the director and an exit interview was conducted. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and shall remain posted for 30 days.
