Facility-requested visit·April 7, 2023

On 4/7/2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Amanda Sutter and Mandie Goodwin met with Director Jamie Tulba for the purpose of an unannounced case management visit. Director requests to increase their preschool capacity from 108 to 154 children. The facility\342\200\231s hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. LPA received the fire clearance on 4/3/2023. Upon arrival, LPAs observed 50 preschoolers supervised by 12 staff members. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: A health and safety inspection were conducted in all areas accessible to children. There are eight preschool rooms that were previously measured on October 20, 2022. The total classroom space contains a total of 5583.14 square feet, which accommodates Applicant's request for 154 preschool children. There are 14 toilets and 46 sinks for the children, and four separate private restrooms for the staff. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: There are three outdoor area on the property for preschool children. LPAs measured the 2-year-old playground, 3 to 5-year-old playground, and garden area. The director stated that they would like to use the garden area for the preschool and infant license and has submitted a request for a shared space waiver. Director has also included a rotating schedule for the garden space. The outdoor play area is fenced with a wrought iron fence that is at least four feet tall. The 2-year-old playground is separated from the toddler playground with a wrought iron fence. There are shaded areas supplied by the building and overhangs. CONTINUED ON LIC-809C LPAs measured the outdoor activity area. The total outdoor activity area contains a total of 11213.41 square feet. This does not accommodate the requested 154 children. The square footage measured accommodates 149 children. LPAs advised the director to submit an request for an insufficient space waiver with a rotating schedule of a maximum of 149 preschool children at any given time. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). As of today 4/7/23, the facility is licensed to serve children 154 children ages 2 years until entry into first grade . A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. In the areas observed, no deficiencies were cited.
