What the inspector wrote

5/19/2025 at 1:15 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrea Cortez arrived at the home of Licensee Tiandra Blakemore for the purposed of an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival LPA was greeted by Licensee and was giving access to the home. LPA observed Licensee and assistant Ashly Wanger supervising 9 preschoolers and 1 infant. Licensee and LPA toured inside and outside the home together. LPA advised licensee- all individuals 18 years old are subject to criminal background review or have obtained a criminal record clearance. Licensee confirmed that there are no new residents or employees since the last inspection. LPA observed proper ratio and capacity was being followed. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:00AM to 5:30PM. Licensee guided LPA on a tour of the facility, and a health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include all upstairs and garage. Licensee acknowledged that children must never enter these areas. LPA observed the required postings, a working phone, 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Per Licensee, there are no weapons in the home and LPA did not observe bodies of water at the facility. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. There is a faux fireplace in the living room that does not get hot enough to require being barricaded. Stairs are properly fenced to prevent access to children. Outdoor play space is fenced. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
