What the inspector wrote

On 07/24/2024 the Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Arianna Manabat met with both Director Amira Kotb and Licensee Representative Neveen Ali for the purpose of an announced case management visit - licensee initiated. The purpose of the case management visit is to measure and add the square footage of the west and east yards, both approved by the Sacramento Metro Fire inspector. During today's inspection LPA Manabat obtain photos of the outdoor spaces and measured a total of 1235.59 square feet. Combined with the previously measured yard space, the new total yard space is 2733.73 square feet. LPA Manabat advised the facility representatives that the new square footage recorded will not accommodate 48 requested children. During today's visit, LPA Manabat obtained an insufficient waiver request reflecting the 2733.73 sqft. LPA notified the applicant that the waiver will be submitted for review and is not guaranteed to accommodate the capacity. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024) The garden area is currently lined with bark and the bike area is lined with concrete. Both areas have shade provided by trees and overhangs of the side of the building. Additionally, LPA Manabat observed that the previous play structure has been dismantled and replaced with a play structure that is intended for children ages 2-5 years of age. LPA advised the applicant and Director to follow manufacturing guidelines set forth by the manufacturer. Finally, LPA Manabat requested that the observed that the facility was able to transition their classroom play spaces within the 30 minute transition time that was indicated on the application page; Preschool will start from 8:00am-3:00pm and school age will start at 3:30pm-6:00pm. This report was reviewed and an exit interview was conducted with the applicant, Neveen Ali.
