What the inspector wrote

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lea Habtom arrived at the facility for an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with licensee, Ramzia Aziz Abdul. Licensee's adult son was present during the inspection providing translation services. There were no day care children present at the time of the inspection. LPA notified licensee the purpose of today's inspection is to follow up on the pool fencing and to verify if the pool has the safety equipment features. LPA toured the backyard and checked the pool fencing. There is a wrought iron fence that separates the entrance from the garage that is 5 feet high. The fence gate is not self-closing and self-latching. The licensee states the spring needs to be fixed on the gate so that it is self-closing and self-latching. The pool does not have the safety features of the alarm, life ring and body hook. The licensee states she placed an order for the pool alarm and she is expecting to receive within a week. Based on the inspection a Type A deficiency was cited. This report was reviewed with the licensee, Ramzia Aziz Adbul. A notice of site visit was provided to be posted for 30 days. Appeal rights provided. LPA Lea Habtom informed licensee Ramzia Aziz Abdul that this report dated April 16, 2026, documents 1 Type A citation which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is/are immediate risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. Also, LPA Lea Habtom informed the licensee Ramzia Aziz Abdul to provide a copy of this licensing report dated April 16, 2026, that documents any Type A citation to parents/guardians of all children currently enrolled by the next business day or the next day the children are in care, and to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of this report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification.

There is also no body hook, life ring and alarm which is an immediate health and safety threat to the children in care.
