On March 24, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jennie Tedlos conducted an unannounced required annual inspection and met with Licensee, Jana Jackson. LPA observed 10 children supervised by the Licensee and an Assistant. Criminal record clearances have been verified. Facility fees were reviewed and are current. Licensee stated there are no new residents in the home since licensure. Licensee hours of operation are Monday- Friday: 7:00 AM- 5:00 PM and does not provide overnight care. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA conducted a health and safety inspection in all areas accessible to children in care. LPA observed the required facility license and Parent’s Rights postings. During today's inspection, Licensee requested that Bedroom #4 be on-limits. LPA inspected Bedroom #4 and determined it is safe and ready for children in care. Off-Limits Areas are now Bedroom #3, Laundry Room, and both Garages. Off-Limits areas will remain inaccessible to children in care by way of gate, locked or closed doors. Licensee understands that to make any off-limits areas an on-limits area, they must notify licensing and the LPA must do an inspection before children are allowed in the area. There are no bodies of water at the home. The backyard area is fenced. Toys appear to be safe and in working condition. Poisonous, toxic and hazardous items are observed to be inaccessible to children in care. Cleaning agents and detergents are made inaccessible to children in care. Fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet regulation. Licensee states there are no weapons in the home. Licensee states there are no pets in the home. REPORT CONTINUES ON 809-C… LPA conducted record reviews during the inspection. LPA observed a current facility roster and that fire drills are completed and documented at least once every 6 months. Children, Licensee, and Assistant files were reviewed, which possessed the required documents. LPA reviewed with Licensee the requirement to renew Mandated Reporter Training every two years. Mandated reporter training can be accessed at www.mandatedreporterca.com . Licensee has current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification. Licensee understands Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification must be renewed every two years. Certification expiration date is 06/2026. The Licensee's Assistant also has Pediatric CPR/First Aid. Pediatric CPR/First Aid training program providers can be found here: https://emsa.ca.gov/childcare_provider/ . This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with the Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and- resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed the Licensee of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Jana Jackson, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility, and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
