On October 23, 2025, at 09:20 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Zirbes met with Licensee Janet Leonard who guided analyst on a tour of the home for the Annual/Random inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed seven children in care (all over age 2) with the Licensees providing supervision. In addition one parent volunteer was present. Currently living in the home are the Licensees. All adults are associated and have eligible clearances. Current school schedule is Monday,Tuesday and Friday 8:30am-noon and Wednesday and Thursday 08:30am - 2:00pm. The preschool is closed mid June through Labor day. Physical Plant: This is a three story house with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, preschool room, kitchen/dining room, living room. Per Licensee, child care activities are provided in the preschool room located on the lower level of the home. Children utilize the one bathroom within the preschool room and the backyard. All other areas of the home are off limits and inaccessible via locked door. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medicines and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. During the inspection, LPA observed cleaning products were stored in a high inaccessible cabinet. Knives and sharp items are stored in the off limits areas of the home. Household medications are stored in the off limit areas of the home. During the inspection the smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were tested. An audible sound was heard when the items were tested therefore the smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were found to be operable at this time A fire place was not present in the preschool room. LPA did not observe baby bouncers/saucer chairs, or any recalled and or prohibited toys on the premises. Per Licensee, there are zero firearms or weapons stored in the family child care. Report continued on page two Report continued from page one Bathroom (located in the preschool room): Toilet and sink were clean and operable. Personal hygiene materials were not present in this area at the time of the inspection. Outdoor: The backyard was completely fenced. LPA observed a dramatic play space, climbing equipment and additional outdoor materials for the ages of the children enrolled in the program. The climbing equipment was anchored to the ground and was placed on wood chips. Per Licensee, there are zero pets on the property. LPA reviewed five child files, the Licensees files. Per LPA review, all files were complete and contained the required documentation. Review of records to be maintained: Per recorded documentation the last fire drill occurred in September 2025. The Fire extinguisher was serviced in May 2025. The following was discussed with the licensee: Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/ safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Report continued on page three Report continued from page two Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. During the exit interview, the Licensee Janet Leonard, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
