Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 06/15/2021 at 03:53pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Destinee Hogue conducted an unannounced case management inspection to follow-up on an Unusual Incident Report (UIR) submitted by the facility to the Riverside Child Care Regional Office on 04/12/2021 via mail. During this inspection, LPA Hogue toured the facility inside and outside, took census of daycare children present on this date, verified facility associations, and discussed the following with Director, Stacey Strasser. On Sunday, April 11, 2021, the Director received a call that the preschool was on fire. When the Director arrived at the facility, she observed the fire department at the facility putting the fire out. Director immediately contacted all parents. Director telephoned enrolled parents and sent a text message through Remind app. Director informed the parents that the facility will be closed on Monday, April 12, 2021. On April 12, 2021, the Director and the city building inspector arrived at the facility and inspected the building. At this time, the building was yellow tagged and closed until all repairs were finalized. On April 19, 2021, the contractors began the process of fixing damage caused by the fire. It was determined by city building inspector and contractors that the repairs would take up to six to eight weeks to complete and the preschool will remain closed until all repairs were completed. On 06/14/2021, the Director submitted an updated unusual incident report and stated all repairs are complete and the facility will reopen on Monday, June 14, 2021. Based on the reported information, as well as an inspection of the areas where the fire had damaged and repairs were made, there appears to be no violations of Title 22 Regulations pertaining to the reported incident, at this time. An exit interview was conducted, and a Notice of Site Visit was provided and must be posted for 30 days. The signature below acknowledges these documents were received on 06/15/2021 by Director, Stacey Strasser. No deficiencies were cited during this tele-inspection.
