What the inspector wrote

On 06/14/2022 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Babatunde Ibitoye conducted A Required 1 Year- Random Annual. LPA and Director toured the school-age center, inside and out. The following was observed: \302\267 The facility is operating within the terms of the license YES \302\267 Ratios were met during this visit YES \302\267 Appropriate supervision was provided during the visit YES \302\267 Classrooms are equipped with age appropriate furniture and equipment in good condition YES \302\267 Classrooms are clean and free of hazards YES \302\267 All floors are clean and safe. YES \302\267 No weapons stored at the facility NONE \302\267 Hazards are stored where inaccessible to children YES \302\267 Toxins are locked YES \302\267 Bathrooms were observed to be safe, sanitary and in operating condition FOUR TOILETS AND FOUR SINKS \302\267 Playgrounds are enclosed by appropriate fences and free of hazards YES \302\267 Outdoor activity areas are supplied with age and size appropriate equipment in good condition YES \302\267 The areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. PEA GRAVEL UNDERNEATH PLAY STRUCTURE \302\267 Food preparation area is clean and free of vermin YES \302\267 All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. YES \302\267 Menus are posted at least one week in advance, in a place visible by the child\342\200\231s authorized representative, dated and kept on file for 30 days, and made available on request. YES \302\267 Uncontaminated drinking water is readily available both indoors and out. YES \302\267 Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR LOCATED IN HALL WAY AND PLAY AREA. \302\267 Sign in/Sign out record was reviewed and meets regulation requirements YES \302\267 Children\342\200\231s records are separate, complete and current. YES \302\267 Staff member\342\200\231s CPR/First Aid expires on - 12/18/22. Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires 04/14/24. LPA discussed the following: Senate Bill AB 633 - Child Care Facilities: Parent Notification Requirements Summary: This bill amends Health and Safety Code (HSC) sections 1596.859, 1596.8595, 1596.8895, and 1597.05 to improve the transparency of licensing records and to ensure that parents/guardians using a licensed child care facility (Center or family child care home) are aware of situations that present the greatest danger to children. These situations include: \302\267 Serious health and safety violations resulting in Type A citations; \302\267 Non-compliance conferences; or \302\267 Efforts by the Department to revoke a facility\342\200\231s license. Each report (documenting a Type A citation) shall remain posted for 30 days along with the Notice of Site Visit (printed out during this inspection). Failure to meet the posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty. In addition, all parents of currently enrolled children and any newly enrolled child for the following 12 months shall receive a copy of report and sign the LIC 9224 acknowledging receipt. Civil Penalty assessments will be assessed if all above requirements are not adhered to. This facility is not currently provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s personnel, and administrative records. Licensee was informed of responsibility to report suspected Child Abuse, 1-800-540-4000. Licensee is advised for quarterly updates to contact the Child Care Advocates information: www.childcareadvocatesprogram@cdss.ca.gov The following deficiencies are being cited in accordance to Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations and/or Health & Safety codes. NONE Notice of Site Visit has been posted (LIC9213). The notice shall be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a $100.00 civil penalty.Exit interview conducted and a Copies of this report must be posted for 30 days in visible location the authorized representatives of children
