What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA) Babatunde Ibitoye met with the facility Director/Owner- Teacher, Sharon Aiken and conducted a Required 1 year Annual Inspection for School- Age children in care. LPAs toured and inspected the facility in accordance with the facility sketch. There are currently (7) children enrolled in the Child Care Center Present during the time of this inspection is licensee and (0) School age Children The facility also is licensed for Preschool program (#364803592). The facility operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm . Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Room is clean and safe. Telephone service was verified. Heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate. There are cubbies for children's belongings. LPA's observed age appropriate toys and materials. Drinking water is available inside the classroom in the form of Igloo pitcher and cups (name on cup). LPA's observed teacher interaction with children. Trash can has a lid. LPA's inspected and observed 2 clean bathrooms (toilets (2), sinks (3) and one urinal) are functioning properly and are age appropriate. There is also a sink available outside the bathroom areas. LPA's observed soap, toilet paper and paper towels readily available. Water temperature is appropriate. Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. The school age children use one playground. Large play equipment and structures (basket ball court, tether ball) are securely anchored. The area was observed to be free of debris. There is an area for shade (covered patio) and rest. Drinking water is available in the form of Igloo pitcher and cups . Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. A review of medication policy indicated that prescription and or over the counter medication is not administered. Currently no children with allergy. There is a separate area for isolation and care of ill children in the quiet area. There is a clean fully equipped kitchen (off limits) with refrigerator/freezer and stove. The facility provide afternoon snacks, lunches are provided by parents or school. Currently no children with allergy. LPAs observed an appropriate amount of food and snacks. The chemicals (locked closet) are kept separate from the food. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed. The parent board was reviewed and has all of the required forms posted. Fire/earthquake drills current. Roster current. Children's records and staff records were reviewed. Staff are certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid expire 03/30/2024.
