Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Due to lead testing requirements, Licensing Program Analysts(LPAs), Aman Sharma and Perla Ordones conducted a Case Management inspection based on lead testing results received on the facility. LPAs Sharma and Ordones toured the facility, took census, and met with lead teacher, Adriana Gaitan-Alvarez to discuss lead testing results and measures taken for remediation of lead exceedances. During the inspection, LPAs toured and obtained photos of the following water outlets identified with lead exceedances: Outlet F30 (6.3 ppb) located in the classroom between the two restrooms. Although the exceedance for outlet F30 resulted as 6.3 ppb's, facility staff stated that the children do not use faucet F30 for consumption. F30 is used for hand washing only, and never for consumption. Children are encouraged to bring their own water bottles from home, otherwise plastic water bottles are provided to them. LPAs observed notification of lead results posted at the facility. LPAs also confirmed that the facility has access to additional water resources from plastic water bottles. Due to outlet F30 being used only for hand washing and not consumption, a citation is not being issued. The following resources were discussed and provided from PIN 21-21.1-CCP dated December 28, 2022: which includes information on: 101700.6 Grant Funding for Qualifying Child care Centers and instructions for remediation. An exit interview was conducted, and appeal rights discussed. LPAs Sharma and Ordones provided lead teacher, Adriana Gaitan-Alvarez with a copy of this report, appeal rights and notice of site visit. This report must be made available to the public upon request for three years.
