What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samuel Lopez arrived at the facility to conduct a Case Management inspection due to the request submitted for an increase in capacity. The facility is requesting to increase the Infant Program capacity from 32 to 48. A Fire Clearance was granted on 4/11/2023. The days and hours of operation will remain the same: Monday through Friday; 6:00am to 6:30pm. LPA Lopez toured the facility and measured the rooms that are assigned to the Infant Program. Based on the measurements taken, the following was determined: Infant Indoor Activity Areas LPA has determined that there is sufficient indoor activity space to accommodate 48 children. Infant Bathroom Fixtures 3 toilets x 15 = 45 children (Potty chairs may be available if needed) 9 sinks x 15 = 135 children Infant Outdoor Activity Area : LPA has determined that there is sufficient outdoor activity space to accommodate 49 children. Limiting factor for infant capacity is the Fire Clearance granted. Infant capacity is limited to 48 children. The following was observed: · The facility is operating with the limits as stated on the license. · Ratios are being met during this inspection · Classrooms are adequately equipped with age and size appropriate furniture and equipment and free of hazards. · Bottled water and filtered system supply drinking water in the indoor activity space · Hazards are stored where inaccessible to children which include: Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous · Poisons and toxins are locked · All floors shall be clean and safe · Sanitation solution is out of the reach of infants · Highchairs and tables have broad based legs and trays lock into place · Changing tables are within arm’s reach of a sink; padding is at least 1” think with raised sides of at least 3” covered in washable vinyl or plastic · Hand washing is completed before and after each diaper change and before feeding an infant · Bathrooms were observed to be safe, sanitary and in operating condition; there is at least 1 potty chair for every 5 potty-training infants · Playgrounds are enclosed by appropriate fences and free of hazards · Outdoor activity areas are supplied with age and size appropriate equipment in good condition · The areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar are equipment with cushioned material that can absorb a fall · A review of staff records on 4/27/2023 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. No cited deficiencies during today's inspection A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. The following items need to be completed/corrected prior to approval of the increase in capacity: 1. Classroom needs to be equipped with age appropriate toys/furniture Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Jennifer Diehl.
