What the inspector wrote

On January 23, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rodriguez made an unannounced inspection to the above facility for the purpose of conducting a Required Annual Random inspection. LPA met with Site Director Meoka Alvis who granted access. LPA and representative toured the facility inside and outside. LPA did not observe any children in care during todays inspection. The facility operates from 6:00 AM to 8:45 AM for morning and 2:30-6:30 PM for the afternoon program, Monday through Friday. This is a before and after school program. All adult employees are criminally cleared and associated to the facility. Physical Plant: LPA observed two clean and safe classrooms, telephone service, heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate. One class is TK-2nd grade the other is 3rd-6th grade. There are cubbies for children's belongings that are labeled in each classroom. Furniture, books, equipment, toys, and materials were age appropriate. Drinking water is available inside the classrooms in the form of water dispensers and disposable cups.There is no napping. First Aid Kits were observed in each classroom. Per representative there are snacks and water for the children for emergencies. Fire extinguisher is full in green in each classroom on the wall last serviced on 1/31/25. Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are operable. Trash cans have secure lids. Bathrooms: LPA inspected the children's bathroom. There are two toilets, and one sinks inside each restroom that are functioning properly and age appropriate. LPA did not observe any hazards. LPA observed soap, toilet paper, and paper towels readily available. Staff use restroom in Room A, one stall is labeled and kept locked. Per representative, there are no other restrooms available for staff to use. Kitchen: There is a clean, fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, stove with oven, microwave, and sink. The facility provides morning and afternoon snacks. Menus are posted. Activities are posted. LPA observed allergy list posted inside the key locked kitchen. LPA observed an appropriate amount of food and snacks. The chemicals are kept separate from the food. Cleaning supplies are kept in the staff stall inside the restroom locked. Outside: Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, cushioning material, good repair and is age appropriate. There is concrete and a grass area for active play. The playground was observed to be free of debris. Drinking water is available in the form of a water cooler and disposable cups. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Other: Children and staff files were reviewed. Some files were incomplete. Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid (expires 9/2026). Transportation is not provided, and medical policy reviewed. Disaster Drills: Fire/Earthquake were current the last fire drill was conducted 11/12/25. The roster is current. Children are inspected for illnesses as they arrive. There is one cot per classroom separate from the children and available for each ill child until the parents can pick up. Staff/child ratios were observed- compliant, sign in/out sheets are on paper. Facility representative was reminded to access the Licensing website at www.ccld.ca.gov . to obtain information about the most recent regulatory changes and the Quarterly Updates. Medications are stored in a kitchen cabinet above the sink, cabinet has a key lock. A review of medication policy indicated that prescription medication is administered only with parent's written permission. The management staff administers medication and documents the dosage, date, and time onto a log. Medication is properly labeled and stored in its original container. -Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Childcare Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. State law prohibits baby walkers, bouncy seats, exersaucers, or any other items that fall into that category. -Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice) or (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA are available at: https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-care-centers/ . -Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Childcare Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test. For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). Per Title 22 Regulations, Division 12, Chapter 1, there are no deficiencies cited during this inspection. Exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was read, a Notice of Site Visit, this report, and Appeal Rights were provided to Meoka Alvis, Facility Representative. A Notice of Site Visit must remain posted for thirty (30) consecutive days. Failure to maintain posting will result in a $100 civil penalty.
