What the inspector wrote

An Informal Office Meeting was conducted today with Monica Duran, Licensee. In attendance were Claretta Yates, Licensing Program Manager, and Kendal Zirbes, Licensing Program Analyst. The purpose of the informal conference was to discuss the serious type "A" deficiencies that the licensee was cited for on 12/08/21. Claretta Yates, LPM, discussed the following with Monica Duncan, the licensee. On 12/08/2021, the licensee was cited three types \342\200\234A \342\200\234 citations: Section 102146.5(f) Staffing Ratio and Capacity. The licensee had 17 children in care, 5 of which were infants. The licensee was also cited for type "A" deficiencies Section 102416.5(d)(2) for having four infants in care when there was a total of more than 14 children., 102425(i) Infant Safe Sleep. On 12/17/21, the Licensee was also cited type \342\200\234B\342\200\235 for Section 102417(g)(10) Operation of a Family Child Care Home for A baby walker shall not be allowed on the premises of a family childcare home in accordance with Health and Safety Code Section 1596.846(b) and (c) On December 8, 2021, LPA observed two children utilizing baby jumpers in the family childcare home. These items are prohibited per Section 1500.86 of Part 1500 of Title 16 of the Code of Federal Regulations. On 12/17/21, the Licensee was cited for one type \342\200\234A\342\200\235 citation Section 102416.5(d)(2) Staffing Ratio and Capacity. Civil penalties assessed for repeat violation. On 02/25/22, the Licensee was assessed Daily Civil Penalty for repeat violation Section 102416.5(d)(2) Staffing Ratio and Capacity, which were also discussed during this meeting. The following was discussed with the Licensee: Report continued on page two 1. The licensee will be placed on Required Visits. Visits will be increased, to every 3 to 6 months. Frequency of visits will be determined on the licensee's compliance with Title 22, California Code of Regulations. 2. Licensee was advised that it is her responsibility to know & understand all requirements of Title 22. 3. The licensee's facility must stay in compliance at all times. 4. The licensee was advised to check the Child Care Licensing web site at www.ccld.ca.gov for quarterly updates. Upon receipt of this report, the licensee shall post and provide copies to the parents/guardians of children in care at the above facility by the next business day or immediately upon return of the child. Any newly enrolled children at the facility must also received a copy of this report during the next 12 months. At the conclusion of this meeting Community Care Licensing provided the following documents to the Licensee: 102425 Infant Safe Sleep, 102416.5 Staffing Ratio and Capacity, 1596.846 Baby walkers, 102417 Operation of a Family Child Care Home A copy of this report will be forwarded to the appropriate Resource and Referral agency. Exit interview conducted with Licensee, Monica Duran, who is agreement with the above.
