Licensing Program Analysts (LPA,s) Babatunde Ibitoye and Kuliema Calloway met with Pre school Child Care Facility (CCF) Lead Teacher Sharon Scheider , today for the purpose of conducting a Required 1 year unannounced Annual inspection for the child care facility. CCF has an Pre-School-age component. There were 18 children present, with 3 teachers providing care. Hours of operation are: Monday thru Friday (between 8:15 am \342\200\223 11:15 AM and 12:15 PM - 3:15 PM ). DOCUMENTATION INSPECTION: With Lead Teacher present, LPA reviewed records to verified accuracy: 1. Sampling of children's records (See LIC 857) 2. Sign In and Out sheets were inspected. 3. Emergency contact information observed 4. Parent board observed 5. Staff personnel files reviewed for educational and certification. (See LIC 859 ) 6. Pediatric CPR and First Aid training for lead staff (EXPIRES: 02-22-2024) 7. Mandated Reporter Training Lead Teacher (Completed: 07-28-2022) 8. Emergency Contact and Fire Drills were current and up to date The facility is operating within the terms of the license (3 TEACHER AND 18 CHILDREN). Ratios were met during this visit YES Appropriate supervision was provided during the visit YES Classrooms are equipped with age appropriate furniture and equipment in good condition YES Classrooms are clean and free of hazards YES No weapons stored at the facility NONE Medications are stored where inaccessible to children YES, MEDICATION AND CONSENT FORM IS SIGNED, DATED AND CURRENT Hazards are stored where inaccessible to children YES Toxins are locked YES Bathrooms were observed to be safe, sanitary and in operating condition YES, WAIVER ON FILE TO SHARE BATHROOMS WITH KINDERGARTENERS All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free YES Uncontaminated drinking water is available both indoors and out YES Outdoor activity areas are supplied with age and size appropriate equipment in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts YES, WAIVER ON FILE TO SHARE KINDERGARTEN PLAYGROUND. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and free of hazards: areas under/around high climbing equipment, swings, and slides have sufficient wood chips material YES All bodies of water are covered or are accessible NO BODIES OF WATER OBSERVED . Food preparation area is clean and free of vermin YES Solid waste storage vessels, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers on, are in good repair YES Food is stored appropriately and protected from contamination. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers at 45 (F) or less YES Menus are posted at least one week in advance, where an authorized representative can view them, are dated and kept on file for 30 days, and are available on request YES, FACILITY SERVES ONLY AM & PM SNACKS. Sign in/Sign out record was reviewed and the person responsible for the child has signed their full legal signatures with time of day noted. On January 1,2018 or before March 30,2018, a person who, is a licensed childcare provider, administrator, or employee of a licensed child day care facility shall complete the on-line mandated reporter training and shall complete renewal mandated reporter training every two years. www.mandatereporterca.com Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm Senate Bill AB 633 - Child Care Facilities: Parent Notification Requirements Summary: This bill amends Health and Safety Code (HSC) sections 1596.859, 1596.8595, 1596.8895, and 1597.05 to improve the transparency of licensing records and to ensure that parents/guardians using a licensed child care facility (Center or family child care home) are aware of situations that present the greatest danger to children. These situations include: \302\267 Serious health and safety violations resulting in Type A citations. \302\267 Non-compliance conferences; or Efforts by the Department to revoke a facility\342\200\231s license. Each report (documenting a Type A citation) shall remain posted for 30 days along with the Notice of Site Visit (printed out during this inspection). Failure to meet the posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty. In addition, all parents of currently enrolled children and any newly enrolled child for the following 12 months shall receive a copy of report and sign the LIC 9224 acknowledging receipt. Civil Penalty assessments will be assessed if all above requirements are not adhered to Center was found to be operating within its specified ratio and capacity. There were no citations issued because of this inspection, Center operating in compliance with Title 22 Regulations. Notice of Site Visit has been posted (LIC9213). The notice shall be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a $100.00 civil penalty. An exit interview was conducted , Notice of Site Visit and a copy of this report was provided to Lead Teacher, SHARON SCHNEIDER .
