What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samuel Lopez arrived at the facility to conduct a Case Management inspection due to the request submitted for a decrease in capacity. The facility is requesting to decrease their capacity from 42 to 28. School age children will utilize Room 7. The days and hours of operation will now be as follows: Monday through Friday; 6:00am to 6:00pm LPA Lopez toured the facility and measured the assigned classrooms. Based on the measurements taken, the following was determined: School-Age Indoor Activity Areas LPA has determined that there is sufficient space to accommodate 28 children. School-age Bathroom Fixtures 2 toilets x 15 = 30 children 2 sinks x 15 = 30 children School-Age Outdoor Activity Area : LPA has determined that there is sufficient space to accommodate 55 children. Limiting factor for school-age capacity is the classroom's square footage. School-age capacity is limited to 28 children. The following was observed: \302\267 Classrooms are adequately equipped with age and size appropriate furniture and equipment \302\267 Water fountains and filtered water supply drinking water in the indoor activity space \302\267 Playgrounds are enclosed by appropriate fences \302\267 Outdoor activity areas are supplied with age and size appropriate equipment \302\267 There are no accessible bodies of water present. All wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position. \302\267 An adequate amount of cushioning material (wood chips) is in place under play equipment \302\267 Adequate shade is provided \302\267 Drinking water is provided in the outdoor play areas by water fountains and pitchers filled with filtered water \302\267 Food preparation area is equipped with refrigerator, sink with hot and cold running water, storage area, utensils, and adequate amount of food supplies \302\267 The office area is located at the entrance of the facility and it serves as the isolation area for ill children temporarily until parents arrive \302\267 Toxins are locked \302\267 Medication will be stored in the office and will be secured in a locked box \302\267 First Aid kit is complete \302\267 Sign in/Sign out record was reviewed and meets regulation requirements \302\267 The Director was informed of their reporting requirements and is provided with the Regional Office\342\200\231s Unusual Incident Reporting email mailbox: UnusualIncidentReportsDO09@dss.ca.gov \302\267 A review of staff records on 10/20/2022 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. LPA discussed AB 2370 and provided a copy of PIN 21-21-CCP which explains the requirement for lead testing of water. All licensed Child Care Centers operating in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, shall test their water for lead. Also, for a license issued on or after July 1, 2022, initial testing results shall be received and posted by January 1, 2023. The Duty Officer is available to answer questions Monday \342\200\223 Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm at: 1-844-LET-US-NO (1-844-538-8766) and/or 951-782-4200 No deficiencies observed/cited during today's inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. The following items need to be completed/corrected prior to approval of the decrease in capacity: 1. Submit updated LIC 200A Application Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Alisa Holtegarrd.
