What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Maddox met with Owner, Operator, Claudia Garcia and Director, Katrina Henderson today for the purpose of conducting a Case Management (CM) inspection for a capacity increase inspection. The current capacity for School age (SA) children is 14, Owner is requesting to increase the capacity to 42. This center is located within a strip mall, the address is 9594 Ave I, Hesperia, Suite A. Owner also has a facility located right next door (9560 Ave I) with a licensed Preschool, School Age, and Infant component. During this inspection, LPA inspected 1 large classroom, the outside play area and 2 bathrooms. Meals will be brought over from the main building by staff. LPA observed a water cooler in the classroom for drinking water. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a dual smoke and carbon monoxide detector present. INDOOR 25 X 35 = 875/35 = 25 7 X 16 = 112/35 = 3 TOTAL INDOOR SPACE: 28 BATHROOMS There are 2 individual bathrooms in the classroom, each bathroom has 1T and 1 Sink with an additional bathroom in the main building (1T/1S) TOTAL CAPACITY WITH TOILETS AND SINKS = 45 OUTDOOR 25 X 79 = 1975 87 x 25 = 2175 Total Outdoor Space: 4150/75 = 55 Fire Clearance was granted on 6/1/2023 for a Total Capacity of 42 SA children. An updated waiver will be required to allow the PS and SA children to share the play yard. Capacity increase will be granted for a total of 42 school age children (14 in the Main Building and 28 at the new location). LPA is requesting an outside play yard schedule (please allow 10 min for each transition) and a formal request for the Waiver. School age children will be escorted to and from the play yard. Exit interview conducted, a copy of this report was left with Director, Katrina Henderson today.
