Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On July 13, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst\342\200\231s (LPA), Kuliema Calloway conducted an unannounced case management inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to inspect the new location of the in-ground swimming pool and ensure the swimming pool fence meets Title 22 Regulations. Upon arrival LPA was greeted by Licensee and observed eight (8) school aged, one (1) toddler, one (1) preschooler, and one assistant in care. LPA observed the pool in the right corner of the back yard upon exit from the house. The pool has an iron fence surrounding the entire pool measuring over 5 feet high. The spacing of its vertical bars are (three and three quarter) 3 3/4 inches apart and does not exceed the four (4) inches. The pool can be accessed from the back door (key locked). Per licensee, the door to the swimming pool is always locked and children are not allowed in the pool area without adult supervision. The gate to the pool has a key lock (observed), it is self -closing and self-latching and swings away from the pool (demonstrated). LPA observed two tables, on a concreted area. There were no chairs or toys that could act as a climbing aid for the children in care to gain access the pool area. All chairs were inside the pool area (locked). The windows that face the pool have shutters. Per the Licensee, the shutters will remain open to always view the pool entrance and the door leading to the back yard has an alarm that will alert anytime it is opened. As a result of the inspection, the swimming pool meets Title 22 Regulations. There are no deficiencies being cited on today\342\200\231s inspection. An exit interview was conducted and copy of this report was read and Notice of Site Visit was provided to the Licensee, Deanna Frye.
