What the inspector wrote

On 07/17/2025 at 08:25 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Raymond Moorehead arrived at the facility to conduct a Case Management visit for the purpose of a capacity increase. Present during this inspection was Director Emelin Tahhan and Teacher Nichole Jaurigue. During today's visit, LPA toured the facility inside and out and took measurements of the new classroom and the facility's current play space. The following was observed and/or discussed: The facility has applied for a increase of capacity. As a result, the facility will be adding a new classroom to their preschool license. For further context, the new preschool classroom was previously a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classroom within the facility's private elementary school. Regarding the new classroom: · Appropriate fire extinguisher was present during this inspection. · All hazardous items are made inaccessible and storage of poisons or toxins are locked · Weapons are not present/stored in the facility, according to Director. · Clean, safe and age-appropriate toys are present · There are no toxic plants were observed at this time · Fire inspection was conducted 06/23/2025. Fire clearance, approving a capacity of 45 children was granted on 06/23/2025. The facility's existing preschool capacity is at 24 children and the new classroom is adding a total 22 children, totaling 46 children. LPA will follow up with the Fire Department to verify approval of 46 total children. The following waivers have been received from the facility: 1.) Waiver requesting permission for children from the TK classroom to share/use the elementary school bathrooms with teacher supervision 2.) Waiver requesting permission to share playground space, due to playground capacity being 25 children. The preschool and TK classrooms will use the playground space at different and scheduled times. Before licensure, the following must be corrected regarding the new classroom: 1.) Facility shall obtain and install a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector 2.) Facility shall obtain a first aid kit Once all corrections have been received and verified, the application for Capacity increase will be submitted for final review and approval with a maximum capacity of 45 or 46. LPA will follow up with Director to confirm the finalization of the capacity increase application process. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Emelin Tahhan. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
