Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Exit interview conducted with facility representative, Alicia Flores and a copy of this report, appeal rights and notice of site visit were left with her. Confidential interviews revealed that staff do not clean the playground area at least once per week. LPA requested cleaning logs that were not available at the time of inspection on 9.7.23 or 10.10.23. LPA observed the facility van in poor sanitary condition and interviews revealed there is no cleaning log or expectations of cleanliness. LPA observed staff handling children in care roughly and speaking to children in an undignified manner. Based on LPAs observations, interviews conducted, and record reviews, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED. California Code of Regulations (Title 22 regulation - see LIC9099D) requires licensee to ensure the outdoor activity space be free from hazards, the childcare center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, and children in care should be accorded dignity in his/her personal relationships with staff and other persons. 2 Type B deficiencies will be assessed for the above violations. Exit interview conducted with facility representative, Alicia Flores and a copy of this report, appeal rights and notice of site visit were left with her.
