On date and time listed above, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justin Giese and made an unannounced vist to the facility to conduct a 1 year required annual inspection. LPA was granted entry by Licensee, Blanca Serrano. LPA toured the facility, inside and out, reviewed records, and observed and/or discussed the following: LPA observed 4 children in care at time of visit. This is a Large Family Child care home with a maximum capacity of 12 children Normal days and hours of operation are: Monday thru Friday from 6:00am - 6:00pm OFF-LIMIT AREAS INCLUDE: All three bedrooms, one restroom & garage A review of the staff records and review of a sampling of children's records were conducted as part of this evaluation The inspection consisted of reviews of the following domains: \342\200\242 Physical Plant \342\200\242 Care and Supervision \342\200\242 Facility Administration \342\200\242 Records \342\200\242 Staffing Ratio and Capacity \342\200\242 Personal Rights Facility was found to be in compliance in these domains. See LIC9102 for Technical Violation \302\267 Licensee is operating within the licensed capacity and appropriate ratios \302\267 The Licensee is present in the home and has ensured that children in care are supervised at this time \302\267 When temporarily absent from the home, the Licensee shall arrange for a substitute adult to care for and supervise children \302\267 A working telephone is present \302\267 Appropriate fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector is present and were tested during this inspection \302\267 Single story home \302\267 No fireplace present \302\267 All hazardous items are inaccessible, this includes: detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other items which could pose a danger to children \302\267 Storage of poisons is inaccessible to children and locked \302\267 Firearms are not stored at this facility as stated by Licensee. Licensee is aware weapons and ammunition must be individually locked and separate at all times. \302\267 Home is clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort \302\267 Safe and appropriate toys and equipment are present for both indoor and outdoor activities. \302\267 Outdoor play areas are fenced or appropriate supervision is present \302\267 Verification of control of property on file \302\267 Property owner/landlord notification and consent on file \302\267 Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan & Notification of Parent\342\200\231s Rights poster are posted \302\267 Pediatric CPR and First Aid Card have expired 05/2025 \302\267 Health & Safety Certificate completed and on file \302\267 There are no bodies of water, at this time. Licensee understands all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools & spas, in-ground pools & spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 regulations. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position. \302\267 Documentation of fire drills are to be conducted every six months: last drill was 03/22/2023 \302\267 Each child\342\200\231s file reviewed contained a copy of the emergency information card with required information Reminders: - Current facility\342\200\231s phone numbers must be on file at all times. - Failure to meet the posting requirements shall result in an immediate $100 civil penalty. - Documentation of fire & earthquake drills are to be conducted every six months - Responsibilities of being a mandated reporter - Baby walkers, bouncy seats, exersaucers and other similar items are prohibited - The licensee is urged to visit the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission web page at www.cpsc.gov to ensure that equipment purchased for the day care has not been recalled. - Notice of Site Visit must be posted at the entrance of the facility for a period of 30 days. If a serious violation is cited (Type A), a copy of the licensing report (LIC809/LIC9099) must also be posted for 30 days. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. During the exit interview, the LICENSEE, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
