What the inspector wrote

On the above noted date and time , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Diana Brasel conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for a decrease in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with director, Linglin He. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 148 preschool children ages 2 through 5 years of age in Pre-Kindergarten #1, Pre-Kindergarten #2, Preschool #2, Jr Preschool #1, Preschool #1 and Jr. Preschool #2 rooms. Hours of operation will be Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 6:30 pm. Present during today’s inspection were 69 children with 7 staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Linglin He that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPA continued to tour the facility and measured new additional indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space measured 5567.39 , which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 148 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via bottled water and children's water bottles. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 08/09/2024. LPA observed a total of 18 sinks and 10 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 148 children. The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing is wrought iron and block wall which is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 10048.10 which is insufficient to accommodate the requested capacity was measured previously, no changes have been made to the outdoor playground. A current playground waiver is on file to share the playground using a time schedule. Shade is provided via wind sails and trees. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is an age appropriate climbing structure on the playground which is properly anchored. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by rubber cushioning. Drinking water is available via children's water bottles. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Director Linglin He was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the director Linglin He. Licensing Program Analyst D. Brasel will process to request to decrease the facilities total capacity to 148 preschool children from a capacity of 168 children.
