What the inspector wrote

On the above noted date and time , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Diana Brasel conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase of capacity/adding a room. The facility has requested to add room 5 for the increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Owner/Director Kelly Wegley . Owner/Director is requesting to be licensed for 71 pre-school children ages 2 through 5 in classrooms 1, 2, 4, and 5. Room 6 will be used for special activities only. Hours of operation will be Monday - Thursday 7:30 am - 3:00 pm and Friday 8:30 am - 1:00pm. Present during today\342\200\231s inspection were 33 children with 4 staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Kelly Wegley that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor preschool classrooms activity space. LPA used the preschool playground outdoor measurements from the PL visit. Total indoor activity space measured 3299.29 , which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 71 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via bottled water and the children's own water cups. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 04/23/2024. LPA observed a total of 7 sinks and 8 toilets available for children\342\200\231s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 71 children. The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing wrought iron and block wall is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 9412.14 , which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. Shade is provided via extended building eve coverage and large trees. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the playground for preschool age children, which is properly anchored. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by wood chips. Drinking water is available via children's water bottles. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Owner/Director was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. The following corrections are needed prior to the issuance of the license: 1. Proof that the two large shelves in the added classroom 5 shall be anchored. 2. Submission of needed documents from the pending increase list has been received. Owner/Director Kelly Wegley understands that all proof of corrections must be provided to the Department within 30 days, or the increase application may be withdrawn. Upon receipt of needed corrections the request to increase the facility from 55 to 71 will be processed. An exit interview and a copy of this report was provided on this date to Kelly Wegley.
