What the inspector wrote

On the above noted date and , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Diana Brasel conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Chela Williams and Angela Esslinger. Facility is requesting to be licensed for 140 preschool children ages 2 to 6 in rooms 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. 9, 10, 11, Chapel room 2, and the multipurpose area. Days and Hours of operation Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 6:00 pm. Present during today\342\200\231s inspection were 46 children with 10 staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Chela Williams that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all rooms previous and new additional indoor space. LPA used previous measurements for outdoor activity space taken at PL visit on 09/01/22. Total indoor activity space measured 6061.78 , which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 140 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via drinking fountains and children's water bottles. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 09/16/2024 . LPA observed a total of 21 sinks and 10 toilets available for children\342\200\231s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 140 children. The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing is brink wall and wrought iron, which is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 14904.96, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. (outdoor measurements were taken during pre-licensing visit 09/01/22, no changes have been made) Shade is provided via umbrellas and building. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the playground, which is age appropriate. which is properly anchored. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by wood chips. Drinking water is available via children's personal water bottles and outdoor drinking fountains. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Director Chela Williams was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. No corrections are needed. An increase of capacity license from 89 to 140 children will be granted upon a final file review. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Director Chela Williams Director and Angela Esslinger Executive Director.
